Obligatory Introduction Post
Pero bueno...
My name is Jessamine and I am a London-based writer currently working on my first novel, as well as aiming to publish my poetry collection by the end
of the year. I will be writing about my life philosophies and reflections; my travels; cultural themes like art, music and architecture; my religious views; my opinions on political issues; my literary idols; my all time favourites and latest reads; friendships, relationships and heartbreak; and lots more I'm
sure will pop up into my head any second from now- maybe occasionally
post some of my poetry too? I will try to update this as regularly as I can
(which should be easy because there is just way too much I want to
write about!) So welcome, scroll down and stay tuned for more!

About Me
Jessamine Mok was born in 1999 in Toronto to parents from Hong Kong. She moved to London in 2017 to read the Bachelor of Laws at University College London, graduating in 2021, and will begin her Master's in European Politics at King’s College London this September. Of her extensive travels spanning six continents, she lists Lisbon, London, Morocco and Argentina as destinations which she not only admires for their intrinsic beauty but have also enchanted her through the inexplicably profound connection that serves as a lasting inspiration for her creative work. The latter, Córdoba, Argentina, where Mok embarked on an exchange programme at the age of 16, has had a significant impact on her formative political and worldly views and continues to shape her art to this day. Mok cites as her literary idols Peruvian Nobel Laureate Mario Vargas Llosa, Argentine writer Julio Cortazar, French philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre, Russian poet Velimir Khlebnikov, Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa and “Queen of Fado” Amalia Rodrigues. She is a native speaker of English and Cantonese, bilingual in Spanish as well as having acquired intermediate fluency in Portuguese and French. Her favourite genres are historical, political fiction and romance.
